31 great reasons...

The breeze whispers memories of the past struggles that built São Caetano, a place full of history and tradition, of dreams that were shaped by brave men, that in the bow of hope gave new worlds to the world.

The sea has always meant sustenance and faith. In the 16th century, the first settlers built a galleon, at the expenses of the governor.

Leaving from Ribeira Velha, the ship joined the fleet of the army of John III, King of Portugal, that opened new horizons and discovered continents and oceans.

At sea, you fulfill dreams, but also God's plan. Story goes that, by some miracle, the beam that's still holding the choir loft of the first church built in São Caetano came from the sea, from the debris of a shipwrecked boat that was coming from Vicenza, hometown of Saint Cajetan, the already patron saint of the parish.

This is a land of traditions, a land of brave men, of fearless fishermen, who went to sea at the break of dawn to earn a living.
